Group Crit – Presentation

How it went 

I personally didn’t feel too confident after my group crit as some of my group didn’t understand my project it had me second guessing if my project made sense, however on reflection and after another crit I realised it does make sense however I think I need to make my point clear about what the images are supposed to represent and that they’re not meant to be bashing or going against the beauty industry in anyway just against outdated dangerous trends. Or to highlight ways in which women changed their bodies in each decade.

Next time I will try and be clearer with my descriptions and try to communicate my ideas clearly so that everyone understands my viewpoint. I also think it was hard to communicate as it was mixed groups, but in reflection that will mean next time I will have to be clearer and more concise so everyone understands.

Feedback 

I did receive some useful feedback which was a way in which I can further the project by looking at deeper issues in beauty trends such as colonisation and different nationalities beauty trends. However for this project I didn’t want to get too political as I was trying to stay appropriate for a brand to use my designs as packaging. As important as those issues are and should be covered I felt this project wasn’t suitable for that as they were too pressing for what my aim was. This time I wanted to share a fact not a viewpoint as I wouldn’t want to offend a customer through handling the situation in the wrong way. However I do think I could further this project down that route or delve deeper into those issues as long as there is a respectful way to do it. 

I was also told about fontsinuse.com which I found really useful and helped me a lot during this project as before I did struggle to find the exact fonts I wanted.
